Sunday Okon Etim: Mbo Transition Chairman set to launch A.R.I.S.E Food
The Transition Committee Chairman of Mbo Local Government Area, Mr. Sunday Okon Etim, has cordially invited Mbo Stakeholders, political class, leaders of thoughts, traditional rulers council, women groups and youth groups, to the flag-off of Free Food Programme of the Akwa Ibom State Government for the vulnerable people.
The event is slated forTuesday, April 2, 2024 by 10:am at IGP Etim Inyang Multi-purpose Hall, Council Secretariat, Enwang.
Recall that His Excellency,the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno,while launching the free food programme and access voucher last week at the popular Etaha Itam Market Itu Local Government Area, said the food security programme is for the vulnerable and the less privileged, especially those at the rural areas.
Each of the beneficiaries of this scheme captured in the social register would receive 5kg of either rice, beans or garri.
A statement by the Press Secretary to the Chairman, Comrade Anietie Esu, noted that the programme, is meant to cushion the prevailing hunger and poverty as a result of the current economic hardship across Nigeria.
