-Pastor Umo Eno and his First Year in Office
“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
This quote resonates deeply as we reflect on the first year of Governor Umo Eno’s administration in Akwa Ibom State. In just one year, Pastor Umo Eno has demonstrated visionary leadership, transforming the state into a hub of entrepreneurial and human capital development. He has been driven by unwavering commitment to empowering young people and improving the lives of citizens since his assumption of office.
Through innovative initiatives like the Entrepreneurship Accelerator Programme, he has enabled young people to become job creators and contributors to the state’s economic growth, thereby instilling hope and confidence in the people.
His administration has also established vocational training centers, provided skills acquisition opportunities for thousands of youths, and launched a comprehensive healthcare programme to facilitate access to quality healthcare for all citizens.
Infrastructural development has been a key focus area, with the construction of model primary schools, healthcare centers, road networks, and creating a conducive environment for businesses to flourish and citizens to thrive. Additionally, the ongoing construction of the Uyo-Ikot Ekpene-Aba highway is set to boost economic growth and improve connectivity in the region.
Governor Eno’s grassroots-oriented approach and policies have brought government closer to the people. His administration’s commitment to sustainable development has led to the establishment of the Akwa Ibom State Development Agency, which aims to drive economic growth and development in the state.
As Pastor Umo Eno marks his first anniversary in office, it is clear that his visionary leadership has set Akwa Ibom State on a path of growth and prosperity. The next seven years under his leadership promises to be even more transformative, with plans to further drive economic growth, improve infrastructure, and enhance the quality of life for all citizens.
The people of Akwa Ibom State can look forward to a brighter future under Governor Eno’s leadership. His dedication to the people of Akwa Ibom State is truly commendable, and we wish him continued wisdom, strength, and success as he leads the state to even greater heights.
Welfare of Retired Civil Servants and the Vulnerable
“We have paid 18.2 billion Naira in gratuities to the retired State civil servants, retired primary school teachers and retired local government workers as well as our conscious efforts to lift people from poverty through our AK-Cares initiative.”
The above excerpt from the one year anniversary speech underscores the Governor’s commitment to the well-being of retired public servants and the most vulnerable members of society, the administration of Pastor Umo Eno has in the last one year, paid a total of 18.2 billion Naira in gratuities to beneficiaries.
This significant disbursement has brought joy and relief to retired state civil servants, primary school teachers, and local government workers who have served the state with dedication and distinction. Governor Umo Eno’s administration recognizes the invaluable contributions of these public servants and is determined to ensure that they enjoy a comfortable and dignified retirement.
In addition to supporting retirees, his administration has also launched the AK-Cares initiative; a comprehensive program which is providing critical support to vulnerable members of the society, including the poor, widows, and orphans.
This support includes economic empowerment programs, healthcare services, and educational opportunities, all designed to help individuals and families break the cycle of poverty and achieve their full potential.
By prioritizing the welfare of retirees and the most vulnerable members of society, Governor Eno’s administration is demonstrating its commitment to creating a more compassionate and inclusive society. As the administration continues to implement its vision for a prosperous and sustainable future, it is clear that the well-being of all citizens will remain at the forefront of its priorities.
Congratulations, my Visionary Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, on your first anniversary in office!
