Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has fulfilled his pledge to the State Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers with the donation of a brand new coaster bus to enhance the council’s mobility and effectiveness during official duties.
The vehicle was formally presented on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the Traditional Rulers’ Chambers in Uyo by the Dean of Commissioners and the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mkpisong Frank Archibong, who represented the Governor at the brief ceremony.
Speaking during the presentation, the Commissioner described the donation as a clear demonstration of Governor Eno’s resolve to support the welfare of traditional rulers and to strengthen the traditional institution as a critical partner in grassroots governance and development.
Receiving the vehicle on behalf of the council, the President General of the Supreme Council of Traditional Rulers, His Eminence, Ntenyin Dr Solomon Etuk, expressed deep appreciation to the Governor for keeping faith with the royal fathers. He noted that the gesture underscored the Governor’s sincerity, respect and genuine concern for traditional institutions in the state.
Ntenyin Etuk further lauded Governor Eno’s developmental efforts across Akwa Ibom State, adding that the provision of the bus would enable the council to effectively embark on project inspection tours. He offered prayers for divine guidance, strength and continued success for the Governor in his service to the people.
The presentation was witnessed by the Chairman of the Supreme Council, Akuku Saviour Udofia, several Paramount Rulers, the Secretary of the Council, Mr Emmanuel Umontuen, PhD as well as management and staff of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
