…accuses Eno of reneging on agreement with PDP decampes

By the Guide Newspaper

A socio political group in the State, Akwa Ibom Grand Allegiance For Good Governance, (AIGAFGG), has written an open letter to Governor Eno, expressing its dismay over what it describe as selective considering and endorsement of aspirants for APC tickets ahead of 2027 general election.

AIGAFGG in their open letter signed by the Chairman of the group Chief Johnny Ukpanah and the secretary Dr. (Mrs) Grace Friday Etuk, the group recalled that Governor Umo Eno had assured all national assembly and state House of Assembly members who decamped with him to APC will be given automatic tickets to return for second term and third term to pursue their respective political aspirations in 2027.

Part of the letter read: “Your Excellency, it is within public knowledge that in the period leading to your political realignments, you engaged members of the National and State Assembly who were then in the PDP, urging them to join you in your movement, with the assurance that such loyalty and alignment would secure their political future, particularly with regard to their second term ambitions. That understanding, as widely perceived, was not merely political, it was a commitment built on trust, mutual respect, and shared political destiny.”

The group expressed worry over the speculation that the earlier understanding reached by the governor with his loyalists who defected with him to APC would be given selective consideration making reference to the the recent publication in the Post Newspaper.

“Today, however, there appears to be growing concern and disquiet that this understanding is not being upheld in a consistent and equitable manner. The perception of selective consideration in matters as critical as second and third term tickets has raised questions among stakeholders and observers alike. Typical of this is as published by The Post Newspaper, Vol. 19, No: 440, of Friday, April 3, 2026, with the caption “2027: Details of Political Agreement During Defection. Those With APC Automatic Tickets. Those Not Favoured, Who May Not Return.”

The group called on the governor to consider his calling as a pastor which demands truth, integrity and upholding the standard of accountability.

“More importantly, Sir, you are not only a political leader but also a man of the faith, a pastor whose words carry moral and spiritual weight. In that sacred calling, truth, fairness, and integrity are not optional virtues; they are fundamental obligations. A pastor’s word is expected to be his bond, steady and dependable, reflecting the highest standards of honesty and accountability.”
