The Akwa Ibom State Ethical and Attitudinal Reorientation Commission, EARCOM, has tasked the Ibom leadership and Entrepreneurial Development Center, Ibom LED, to judiciously implement the entrepreneurship vision of Governor Umo Eno in the State.
Chairman of the Commission, Dr Dorothy Thompson, gave the charge while chatting with newsmen in reaction to the approval of 250 miilion Naira by Governor Eno, for the training and mobilisation of about 400 entrepreneurs in the State, during the formal flag-off, of the Made in Akwa Ibom Trade Fair at Ibom-Led Headquarters, (Former Ibom E-Library), IBB Avenue, Uyo), as part of activities to commemorate the 36th anniversary of the State’s creation.
The EARCOM boss said the kind gesture of Governor Umo Eno, is a demonstration of his love and magnanimity to the people of Akwa Ibom State, especially to entrepreneurs, having pledged on several occasions that his administration will support and grow small and medium scale enterprises, SME’s, to boost the local and creative economy.
Dr Thompson, accordingly tasked the managers of Ibom-LED, to prudently identify, screen and monitor would-be beneficiaries so as not to fritter away this positive initiative of the State Government. She also
urged the registered entrepreneurs to take advantage of the human capacity building and empowerment opportunity to get trained in various fields to enable them set up their businesses.
She expressed the support of EARCOM for establishment of the Entrepreneurial Centre in the State, the Ibom-LED crew under the watch of the Director General, Mrs Ekaette Umoh, and the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Umo Eno, on Entrepreneurial Development, Mr Ime Uwah, expressing confidence that they will deliver on their assignment.
