AKS ELDERS, STAKEHOLDERS PASS VOTE OF CONFIDENCE ON GOVERNOR ENO

Elders and Stakeholders of Akwa Ibom State under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party, have passed a unanimous vote of confidence on Governor Umo Eno for what they describe as the early visible strides the Governor has recorded since he assumed office.
At an enlarged meeting of Elders and Stakeholders drawn from the 31 LGAs in the State on Monday, October 2,  2023, the elders and Stakeholders noted that Governor Umo Eno’s emergence heralded a new dawn of pragmatic leadership, stressing that within the few months of holding the reins, the Governor has demonstrated great feat in steadying the state on the path  which will birth accelerated progress while also making bold steps to strengthen the bond of unity amongst Akwa Ibom people.
Moving the motion for a vote of confidence on the governor,  Senator Emmanuel Ibokessien said the stakeholders and indeed Akwa Ibom people are so far impressed with the results-oriented efforts made by Governor Umo Eno to pursue infrastructural expansion and other sectoral development efforts while also making deliberate efforts to consolidate on the prevailing atmosphere of peace and unity in the State.
The motion which was seconded by former Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Peter Linus was subjected to voice vote by the State Chairman of the Party, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Akpan, with the entire Elders and Stakeholders voting in affirmation.
While addressing the Elders and stakeholders, Governor Umo Eno acknowledged the role they collectively played in his emergence as Governor as well as the smooth take-off of his administration,  pledging that he will continue on the path of taking Akwa Ibom State to an enviable heights amongst States in the country and consequently, leave behind positive imprints of broad-based development in the state.
Governor Eno while taking time to brief the Elders and Stakeholders on the early projects and interventions his administration has already begun and completed, as well as the numerous projects in the offing, enlisted the stakeholders’ support towards the actualisation of the ARISE agenda.
While assuring the Stakeholders and Akwa Ibom people of his resolve to continue to pursue a blueprint of development that will lead to the collective prosperity of all Akwa Ibom people as captured in the ARISE agenda, the Governor urged the Stakeholders to keep a distance from capable of heating up the polity and detract the government from pursuing the development plans it has for the people.
Earlier while setting the tone for the meeting,  State Chairman of the PDP, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Akpan applauded Governor Eno for his spectacular decision of constantly meeting with critical stakeholders to keep them abreast of government development efforts and plans.
He communicated the resolve of the PDP to continue to provide the needed support that will lead to the actualisation of the ARISE agenda for the benefit of Akwa Ibom people.
Speaking separately, Front line Elders across all three senatorial districts including Chief Ndueso Essien, Senator Emmanuel Ibokessien and Senator Effiong Bob, as well as other stakeholders maintained that with the visionary way the ship of the Pastor Umo Eno’s administration has taken off, it will lead the state to newer coasts of accomplishments.
