Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has reaffirmed the state’s readiness to welcome visitors from within and outside Nigeria for Christmas Unplugged 3.0 and beyond.
Pastor Umo Eno, while speaking at the opening ceremony held at Amphitheatre of Unity Park in Uyo, just before the official unveiling of Christmas Unplugged 3.0 official logo, described the festival as a vibrant platform that showcases the state’s warmth, creativity, and rising tourism profile especially as it boosts entrepreneurship.
He noted that Akwa Ibom is making significant strides in aviation, citing the recent upgrade of the Victor Attah International Airport as a major boost to global accessibility.
Governor Eno called on Akwa Ibomites, friends, and admirers to turn out en masse to support the 31 LGAs as they display their diverse cultural heritage.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Anieti Udofia, described Akwa Ibom as an emerging toast among the comity of states, adding that the Christmas Unplugged event has evolved into a global fiesta attracting participants and visitors alike.
This year’s edition features several innovations, including a pavilion for Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, as well as a Women and Children’s Day celebration.
The cultural displays from the 31 LGAs are expected to be more organised and engaging, starting with Abak and Eastern Obolo on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.
