ABAK – The Àduk Annang Development Foundation (AADF), popularly known as Annang Union, has inaugurated its maiden 16-member executive to steer the affairs of the organization for the next three years.

The inauguration, which held in Abak, saw Engr. Nsikak Affia, FNSE, a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, emerge as President, with Nsima Ekanem and Inimfon Udom serving as Deputy Presidents I and II respectively.

Other members of the new leadership team include Adaha Etuk (Secretary-General), Lawrence Etukudoh (Treasurer), Saviour Udoma (Assistant Secretary), Emmanuel Ekanem (Ex-officio I), Donatus Abara (Ex-officio II), Imoh Umoh (Public Relations Officer), Anthony Udonsa (Legal Adviser I), Uduak Ibah (Legal Adviser II), Christiana Okure (Financial Secretary), Ekaette Thompson Isaiah (Welfare Officer), Friday Idung (Auditor), Datti Ekpoudom (Organising Secretary), and Emmanuel Inyang (Provost).

The oath of office was administered by Akanaono Umoh, Esq., who urged the new executive to uphold the values of integrity, unity, and service as enshrined in their oath.

Speaking at the event, the chairman of the occasion, Dr. Godwin Benson, who doubles as the Group News Editor of The Pioneer Newspapers, congratulated the newly sworn-in officers for accepting the call to serve. He encouraged them to harness their diverse expertise towards the collective progress of Annang people and their environment.

In his inaugural speech, President Affia expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead, noting that though the body is just two years old, it has achieved significant milestones. These include official registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), attracting dividends of democracy, and creating employment opportunities for members through strategic partnerships.

He particularly appreciated the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, and the Director of Projects, Dr. Victor Antai, for their recognition and support of the Union. Affia also pledged the group’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s developmental agenda, urging him to prioritize the Niger Delta as the nation’s economic hub.

The AADF president further commended the Senate President, Chief Godswill Akpabio, for his legislative leadership and youth empowerment initiatives, while lauding Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, for fostering peace and unity through his governance mantra.

The event also featured goodwill messages from individuals and groups within and outside the Senatorial District, all pledging support to the newly inaugurated executive as they embark on their three-year tenure.
