Barely a day after Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and was announced as the leader of the Party in the State by the National Chairman, Alhaji Umar Ganduje, a faction of the Party in Uyo Senatorial District loyal to the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has already started undermining the governor by hosting an emergency stakeholders’ meeting without the governor’s consent.
According to our source within the faction, the stakeholders’ meeting, which is currently ongoing, is convened by the South-South Officer of the Party, Hon Ita Udosen at his residence in Ikot Udo-owot , Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area.
The source further disclosed that only members loyal to Senator Akpabio were invited to the meeting while the new defectors like the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, were not invited.
