The popular Alaba International Market has been shut down by Lagos State Government. The Lagos State Commissioner for Environment Tokunbo Wahab confirmed the development. According to the commissioner, the market was closed down due to poor waste disposal practices among others. “Alaba International Market, Ojo has been sealed up for poor waste disposal practices, failure to pay their waste bills, and gross environmental sanitation offences,” Tokunbo Wahab stated. A 23-year- old man, Akaninyene Isaac, has hacked his mother to death with a cutlass for denying him food for three days in Oruk Uso Otoro village, Abak Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
