Akwa Ibom State Police Command says it has arrested six suspects in connection with the repeated assault of a 13-year-old boy over three years. The forward operation base (FOB) of the Nigerian Navy in Akwa Ibom state says it has arrested three persons over alleged petrol theft in the state. Blessing Obot, a 500-level student of the Department of Agricultural Engineering, Akwa Ibom State University, has emerged as the winner of the department’s maiden poster competition. Obot, whose research focused on ‘designing and developing an automated fish feed dispenser,’ amassed 95.33% to beat his closest rival, Courage Ekanem, who scored 93.78% to finish second. One Marine Police officer has been declared missing, while two others sustained varying degrees of injury following attack on the operatives by armed hoodlums suspected to be Sea Pirates on Akwa Ibom coastal waters.
