The Federal Government has pushed back the application deadline for the Federal Civil Service to March 17, 2025.
The Federal Civil Service Commission had originally announced the recruitment on January 27, 2025, offering over 70 job openings across various ministries, departments, and agencies.
Available positions include: Administrative Officer, Planning Officer, Programme Analyst, Procurement Officer, Senior Computer Engineer, Dentist/Dental Officer, Population Programme Officer, Medical Laboratory Scientist, Education Officers, and Senior Youth Development Officer.
Many citizens expressed frustration over difficulties accessing the recruitment portal, leading to calls for an extension.
FCSC spokesperson, Hassan Taiwo, acknowledged that some applicants faced technical challenges, but noted that others were able to register without issues.
In an advertisement published in two national newspapers and shared by Taiwo on Monday, the commission announced that the new deadline replaces the previous one, which was set for March 10, 2025.
The announcement stated, “The Federal Civil Service Commission has extended the closing date for receiving applications for various vacancies in the Federal Civil Service to Monday, March 17, 2025, to allow more eligible candidates to participate in the exercise.”
This update overrides the earlier advertisement from January 27, 2025, in some national dailies and on the FCSC website (www.fedcivilservice.gov.ng), where the deadline was initially March 10, 2025.
“Updated information is now available on the FCSC website and in The Sun and The Nation newspapers from Monday, March 10, 2025, as well as Daily Trust from Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
Qualified Nigerians are encouraged to take advantage of this extension and apply for the available positions.
The Commission assures applicants of a merit-based and transparent recruitment process,” it concluded.
