Farmers in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State are filled with renewed hope and enthusiasm, following the state government’s plan to establish a cocoa estate in the area.
Prince Bassey Edet Otu who dropped the hint in the state said the initiative promises to transform the region, offer economic opportunities and much-needed development to farmers in the state.
The Cross River State Governor said the project is part of its larger vision to make the state a major player in Nigeria’s cocoa industry.
The residents of Akpabuyo see the cocoa estate as more than an agricultural project saying it is an opportunity to revitalize their community.
From improved infrastructure to economic growth, they believe this initiative will rewrite the narrative of Akpabuyo’s development.
Officials have promised that the estate will not only boost cocoa production but also provide training, improved seedlings, and infrastructure development to support local farmers.
The proposed cocoa estate in Akpabuyo is not just about boosting cocoa production; it’s about changing lives, uplifting a community, and fostering sustainable growth.
