.as Gov. Eno shares State’s funds with politicians
… Christmas under Umo Eno, worst in history–citizen
By the Guide Newspaper
Despite the administration of Governor Umo Eno receiving over N1.27 trillion from Federation Allocation Account Committee (FAAC) in the last two years according to published budget performance reports from the Akwa Ibom State government, there is growing biting hunger in Akwa Ibom State, the Guide Newspaper can authoritatively say this.
The Guide Newspaper reports that Akwa Ibom State is one of the few States in Nigeria receiving the highest allocation of funds from the federal government and ironically also a State with the highest poverty rate in the country according to National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
It would be recalled that in 2025 alone, Governor Umo has shared more than 30 new jeeps to ex- deputy governors in the State, serving House of Representatives members, party officials and other category of politicians in Akwa Ibom State. A development that has forced many citizens of Akwa Ibom State to question the priorities of Akwa Ibom State government.
It would be also be recalled that Governor Umo Eno came under severe criticism in 2025 for allowing politicians in Akwa Ibom State to hijack the Arise empowerment programme of the administration which was meant to lift poor citizens of the State out of poverty.
Governor Eno made car donation and offered millions of naira to high ranking politicians in Akwa Ibom State disguising as business grants.
Speaking on the development some citizens of Akwa Ibom State wondered why Governor Umo Eno prefers sharing state’s funds to politicians in Akwa Ibom State instead of executing projects and industries that would create a value chain of employment for youths in Akwa Ibom State.
