Speaking with the Guide Newspaper, a public affairs analyst Barrister Samuel Okoko called on Governor Umo Eno to channel funds coming to the state to revive the moribund industries in Akwa Ibom State and create employment opportunities for the youths rather than further wasting the state’s funds on frivolities.
“A state with one of the highest rates of uneployment in the country should not be spending billions of state’s funds on entertainment. It is regretable that reckless spending and wrong priority are still the bend of leadership in a state like Akwa Ibom. The younger generation must begin to ask their leaders questions. In a state with biting hunger and unemployment, what’s the rationale for funding entertainment for unemployment youths? ” Barr. Samuel Okoko questioned.
