A  foremost socio political group in Akwa Ibom State, Ibom Akwa Ibom has called on Governor Umo Eno to stop sustaining unproductive Commissioners in his cabinet with tax payers money in the State. Insisting that the best way to demonstrate prudence in management of public funds and enhancing productivity in his cabinet is to use the carrot and stick approach to leadership by sacking non creative Commissioners within his cabinet to serve as a deterrent to others.

Members of the socio-political group made the call in a press release made available to the Guide Newspaper last Monday, stressing that Governor Umo Eno has no reason to feed unproductive politicians in his cabinet if he truly has any goodwill for Akwa Ibom people which he was elected to serve.

Ibom Akwa Ibom specifically mentioned some Commissioners in Governor Umo Eno’s cabinet who  relapsed to oblivion shortly after  their auguration  one year ago to include: the Commissioner for Environment and Mineral Resources Mr. Nsikak Ekong,  Commissioner Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare Mrs Iniebehe Linus Etukudoh, Commissioner of Ministry of Labour and Manpower Hon.Ikoedem Efanga Ekong, and Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Henry Okon Archibong.

The group described the above mentioned commissioners in the State as liabilities to the State government and demand for their immediate removal to pave way for productive minds to join the State’s EXCO and serve the good people of Akwa Ibom State.
