…As Enoidem Refutes Defection Rumours

The Guide Newspaper has received reliable information on how prominent members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State nearly ruined the wedding ceremony of Prince Monday EbongUko, first son of Sir Monday Uko, the immediate-past Honourable Commissioner for Youths and Sports last weekend, with dirty politics.

According to a witness, the series of incidents began when the former legal adviser of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem, as one of the event planners, went to welcome Governor Umo Eno and Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, to the event upon their arrival. The trio shared a moment of laughter which was caught on camera.

However, it was learnt that some government appointees in their mischief nature, ordered their media influencers to share the video online with the false narrative that Barr Enoidem has concluded plans to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to APC, which according to our source, infuriated many of the guests who witnessed what truly happened.

“Since the governor defected to APC, that event was the first time that all the who’s who in this state across party lines, gathered together in a joyful mood devoid of politics. People were genuinely happy to see each other again after a long time“, our source who pleaded anonymity, stated. “But you can always count on these new APC/Akwa united Media Aides and their ilk to be very insensitive and they did not fail”.

Our source further disclosed the action of the APC was necessitated by Governor Eno’s repeated lamentations over his inability to convince prominent members of the PDP like Bar Enoidem, to join him in APC, adding that the governor is really scared of the people still remaining in PDP.

“All of these are as a result of Governor Umo Eno’s desperation. The few people in PDP are giving him sleepless nights so he is eagerly looking for every means to bring the people to APC”, the source continued. “The other day, former governor, Udom Emmanuel, simply made a call on Nigerians to support President Tinubu to fight insecurity, but Umo Eno used his media team to misrepresent the facts about Udom’s remarks. They even issued a press release on it”.

The source also told the Guide Newspaper that Barr Enoidem had since refuted the defection rumour, and reaffirmed his loyalty to the PDP, adding “Barr Enoidem said APC will wait till the end of time if they are waiting for him to join them. The defection rumour is a figment of their imagination”.

The further informed our reporter that during his remarks, the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio used his entire speech to narrate the battles he has engaged with the groom’s dad in the past before asking him to publicly declare his support for the forthcoming elections.

In another related incident, the Guide Newspaper was also reliably informed that earlier during the wedding in Church, the wife of the Senate President, Ekaette Unoma Akpabio, had confronted the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Comrade Ini Ememobong, threatening that Comrade Ememobong will be arrested.

According to an eyewitness, Mrs Akpabio who was shocked to see Comrade Ememobong at the event, immediately started confronting the PDP spokesperson without any reason, adding that incident was both surprising and shocking as there was no prior altercation.

“Mrs Akpabio saw Ini Ememobong and immediately started pointing at him and saying, ‘You, they will arrest you. I promise you. They will arrest you, I have warned you oooo ‘. But Ini who sat close to Emmanuel Enoidem SAN and Igwat Umoren, sharply responded, ‘If they arrest me, will they kill me?”. Surprisingly, she boldly responded, ‘Yes, they will kill you’. What is unknown is who she was referring to as “they”.

According to our source, the altercation was audible enough for those seated around them to hear. “Many worshippers who sat close to them witnessed the confrontation, which was confusing”, the source added.

Many guests frowned at the show of emotional intelligence by politicians who threw decorum to the wind at events like these and turn them to raw politics. They opined that they are grossly insensitive.
