Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed rumours that he collapsed and was flown abroad for medical treatment, describing the claims as satanic and politically motivated.

Speaking on Thursday while inspecting some projects in the nation’s capital, Wike said, “I don’t want to give credence to people who are only interested in spreading rumours. First of all, I am a human being, not a ghost. If someone collapses, it is a human being that collapses, not a ghost. Unfortunately, I did not collapse.”

Wike clarified that he has remained active in his duties, pointing out that he attended public engagements, including leading Abuja residents to Presidential Villa and participating in the president’s Iftar event.

“There was never a time I collapsed. There was never a time anybody took me anywhere for medical attention. People who spread such remorse should focus on reality,” he stated.

The minister accused political detractors of fabricating the story to divert attention from the real issues in the country, saying, “I will sign their condolences.”

The minister said he was satisfied with the quality of work on the projects visited, assuring that some of them would be ready for commissioning by May.
