Inibehe Effiong’s 13 Points of Concern -1
Micheal Okon.
To ignore our dear Brother Inibehe Effiong ESQ is a risk not worth taking but to call him names for speaking out is a path I wouldn’t love to join. Sincerely from my heart, I admire Inibehe Effiong ESQ,he makes me love the legal profession the more as my first choice of career study which never happened before Economics.
It’s this respect that I have for him like most AkwaIbomites do that made me go through his points line by line to really ascertain if he truly wishes this State well after seeing rebuttals from certain quarters.
Perusing through his time line on the blue App, I have noticed a single act of praise and commendation from Barrister Inibehe Effiong calling on Akwa Ibom indigenes to patronize Ibom Air while admonishing the management to focus more on business rather than politics if Ibom Air must maintain standard. Of course he didn’t mince words in demanding for accountability. Inibehe Effiong has my support in this and many more of his feats on the National stage of the legal profession. I will not be true to my inner self if I fail to acknowledge his unprecedented success stories as a young lawyer from our dear State (so far,so good).
My brother, I am proud of you on many fronts, even today as we peruse through your 13 points of concern, I can not help but admire your courage. I will hopefully stand by you even while dissecting your concerns, our concerns in the light of truth and hypocrisy.
Let’s start from your last post downward to the first on your concerns which invariably has become the concerns of many of recent. That your concerns has produced rejoinders from not a few is proof that your points have been noted.
1) “I support Church member disgracing Akwa Ibom politicians in churches when they go for their usual godless “Thanksgiving services” or when pastor’s invite them to the pulpit to deceive people.

Let the revolt begin in Churches.
If you cannot protest in the streets, you can protest in your churches. Jesus did not keep quiet when the temple was desecrated. He took a cane and flogged those who desecrated the temple and chased them away.
The Christianity of silence in the midst of evil and corruption that we are practicing in Nigeria has only made things worse.
If you do not openly disgrace and oppose these people, nothing will change. When they are called to the pulpit, shout them down and do not let them use the pulpit for their politics.
Many Christian leaders in Akwa Ibom have been part of the problem. They have aided and benefited from the crass criminality and bad governance for too long.
Akwa Ibom State would not have been this bad if citizens were conscious.
People must rise up and say enough is enough” Inibehe Effiong ESQ
The above is taken as your first major concern in this series. To me you have said nothing but the truth but it may not be the whole truth.
No doubt many have used the “Church” to perpetuate evil in the name of God. Truth be told many Politicians have used the Religious Opium of the masses to dull the minds of the governed so they can actually steal with the pen. To this I stand with you. I am even of the opinion that Jesus should be painted black and not yellow with blue eyes ( I actually prefer a black Jesus).
I agree with you that criminal politicians who seek to use the Pulpit for the usual deceit should be shouted down especially in your home State where a Pastor is the Governor. You have truly shown that charity should begin at home.
My only concern is why Akwa Ibom State? Why not Lagos State where you have actually chosen as your first home by occupational choice of location? Is it that the Governor of Lagos State is not a Christian and does not go to church for “godless Thanksgivings”?
You said let the revolt begin in the Churches. I Duff my cap for you as a brave and audacious young lawyer but please also call for revolts from the Mosques too as these two Religions remain the undisputed rooted influences on our leaders across board. Call for the Muslims to protest against the Imams also in the Mosques, don’t forget Mr President is a Muslim and life is already a mess for a common Nigerian today. I couldn’t agree with you less that “the Christianity of silence in the midst of evil and corruption that we are practicing in Nigeria has only made things worse” but are we really silent Christians in Nigeria or are you intentionally seeking to instigate chaos through misdirection in your State where a Pastor is Governor?
Comrade I see what you are doing. You seem worried that Akwa Ibom State is enjoying reasonable Peace and you are indirectly blaming Christian Religion in a State which has a Christian Pastor as a Governor, to you this Peace must not be because lawyers do not actually make money when there is Peace. I do not wish to lampoon you for seeking to awaken the unschooled spirits of those who are yet to learn that fools will make you rich by funding your pockets of selfish activism but I could be wrong, yet I can’t help but wonder why you are strongest when fighting anything Akwa Ibom State or should we check you Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) truest origin?
Nonetheless, you must be appreciated for acting like a bad neighbor who becomes the good friend unknowingly by mocking his neighbor of smelling mouth and dirty armpits thus forcing the other to taking self hygiene seriously. People like you should be appreciated but not for the seemingly hired approach of a propagandist which you seem to be playing. A legal political media Assassin of perceived influence hired for dirty jobs.
I guess by the time we successfully go through your 13 points, our dear Governor would have shown to you that he listens to reasonable concerns rather than insults for if other Governors never listened, Pastor Umo Eno will for the love of his people, the greatness of our dear State while trampling upon insults with lasting results.
Before attempting to draw the curtain on this concern of yours let’s carefully look at the phrase “Akwa Ibom State would not have been this bad if citizens’ were conscious” that makes part of your thoughts of concern.
How bad is Akwa Ibom State my dear brother? How good is Lagos State and Nigeria? Why have you chosen to degrade your State for whatever reason? Who is bank rolling this de-marketing of our dear State through you? What do you stand to gain?
The dictionary meaning of Bad has made me to wonder why you are killing us no matter how we try to build a State we can a be proud of? As a lawyer who deals with words ,I want to believe you knew exactly “how bad” your State is;
poor quality or a low standard.
“a bad diet”
synonyms: substandard, poor, inferior, second-rate, second-class, unsatisfactory, inadequate, unacceptable, not up to scratch, not up to par, deficient, imperfect, defective, faulty, shoddy, amateurish, careless, negligent, dreadful, awful, terrible, abominable, frightful, atrocious, disgraceful, deplorable, hopeless, worthless, laughable, lamentable, miserable, sorry, third-rate, diabolical, execrable, incompetent, inept, inexpert, ineffectual, crummy, rotten, pathetic, useless, woeful, bum, lousy, appalling, abysmal, pitiful, godawful, dire, not up to snuff, the pits, duff, chronic, rubbish, pants, a load of pants, ropy, poxy, egregious, crap, shit, chickenshit”
I am wondering if your lineage are proud of the Lagos lawyer you have become. I am wondering if Akwa Ibom people will continue to patronize you legally seeing how bad you see the State to be.
Where did you get the idea that consistently fighting your State will make you popular and acceptable? Does your mentor, the great Falana have a history of tarnishing the image of his State? At this point having carved a space for yourself in the legal profession, I expected you to wisely work your way through towards being part of the building process of Akwa Ibom State rather than the destruction of our public image to investors.
I am proud of you but I am ashamed that you consider us in a chickenshit, substandard state as a State. Are you really for us or against us? What can we really do to placate your disdain for our leadership from The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State whom you have never supported and have been hired like in the past to rundown ?
I Know you dare not call for a revolt in the Mosques even in Lagos, else they come for your head. Beware of the battles you start. You may not live to see the end of the war.
