Hon Inibehe Umah: Ini Transition Chairman Counts Attainments after 100 days in office
Hon Inibehe Umah is the Transition Committee Chairman of Ini Local Government Area. his his first 100 days in office was seen as a litmus test, but Hon Inibehe Umah has indicated his determination and competency serve his people with sincerity of purpose.
Within his short period in office, dispassionate assessment revealed that the transition committee chairman of Ini Local Government, has demonstrated his sagacity and capacity through the fulfilment of his promises during his inauguration. In his press statement, Hon. Umah said since his assumption of office, he has studied the system and was able to identify grey areas and work towards transforming those areas for positive change.
He said his aspirations to introduce life-touching projects while giving medas touch to existing ones was informed by his zeal to make difference in his capacity for the benefit and betterment of the people. Hon. explained that his actions were capable of changing the political narrative via governance for a trajectory leadership.
He said in spite of the present financial challenges, that he still lives in essence of a true visionary leader with total commitment and determination to live a life in the service of others..
The Ini transition committee chairman posited that in his three months in office, his transformative performance have been exceptional, characterized by a relentless efforts on developmental projects such as; economic, infrastructural especially, road infrastructure and rural development for the benefit of the people.
He remarked that such gesture was born out his dedication to the service and welfare of his people which he long aspired for but no capacity to experiment, adding that since he was sworn-in on December 7, 2023, that faithful day marked a new dawn in Ini Local Government as he was offered opportunity to render his long awaiting service to his people.
Hon. Inibehe Umah who said as the mantle of leadership was entrusted on him by the people, that a sacred covenant of service to the people was forged in, for a true practice of democratic government that will bring dividend of democracy to the door steps of the people with accountability, transparency and accessibility.
The transition chairman who noted that as a steward, he has embarked on a transformative journey in service of stewardship with unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people through superlative performance, enumerating on his achievements within his 100 days in office to include;
Facilitating Free JAMB Enrollment for Ini Indigenes,
Empowerment by initiating a groundbreaking program aimed at removing financial barriers in education for the indigenes of Ini and strategic partnerships and the ongoing establishment/ Construction of Join Admission And Matriculation Board (JAMB) in the local government to curtail the risk of going to Ikot Ekpene for JAMB examination.

He said such risk and even transportation cost also robbed countless aspiring students who dared to dream beyond their circumstances of the opportunity to further education.
He said he has also place legionnaires on monthly payment of stipend as part of recognition and honour to the sacrifices they rendered to the nation’s peace-building given the fact that the veterans extends beyond mere rhetoric, manifesting in tangible support and unwavering solidarity hence the enactment of prompt and regular payment of monthly stipends to Legion members as a policy to provide lifeline for their well-being.
In the press statement, Hon. Umah also stated that he has also partner with village heads for peace and tranquility, saying that such was necessary for power of collaboration and community-driven initiatives in order to forge strong alliance with village heads across the area in recognition of their office as custodians of peace and tranquility as dialogue, diplomacy, understanding and commitment to the common good of the area will be foster through the synergy.
He said he has also made provision for funds, logistics for monthly meetings of Ini Traditional Rulers Council in given the pivotal role of the traditional institutions in governance and community development, saying that the strategic investment on the TRC will ensure, encourage and place them in the forefront of the state TRC for efficacy and efficiency
The establishment and inauguration of Education Support Committee to facilitate Ini indigenes smooth access to quality education which remains a fundamental pillar of societal progress, laid the groundwork for a transformative paradigm shift, with the task of championing the cause of education which the committee stands as a beacon of hope for Ini students at ensuring that no dream is left unfulfilled due to financial constraints or societal barriers as the committee will work towards payment of School Fees Grants to Indigent Students.
Navigating on his gesture for compassion and solidarity with the vulnerable members of society, Hon. Inibehe Umah said he has instituted a groundbreaking school fees grants program to provide much-needed financial assistance to indigent students specifically, the vulnerable striving to pursue higher education. He said the initiative serves as a potent symbol of inclusivity and equity, ensuring that the doors of opportunity remain open to all, regardless of socioeconomic status or background, that so far, five students have received N100,000 each.
Hon. Umah said he has Commenced Ini Community Extension and Urban Decongestion Programme with building hope towards the future and a commitment to sustainable development, as well as urban renewal and rural rejuvenation through the Ini Community Extension and Urban Decongestion Programme by prioritizing the grading of rural roads and enhancing accessibility to underserved communities, as a foundation for a more equitable and inclusive future for all residents of the area. He enlightened the people that so far, over eleven internal roads have been graded across the locality saying that such has boosted the local economy as he has created links between neighboring Loca Governments.
On security, the Ini Transition Committee Chairman said he has engaged not less ten ex-servicemen in security checks and Intelligence gathering given their experience in such capacity having recognize the importance of security in fostering peace and prosperity. Umah who said the proactive measures taken by his administration was to boost security efforts within in the local government through the strategic engagement of ex-servicemen for reinforcement for safety as the security of residents remain paramount in his government to complement the internal security policy of the present administration of Governor Umo Eno.
While informing that he has constructed INI GATEWAY which will serve as a symbol of pride to the Local Government Secretariat during his Press statement, Hon. Umah said his committee has recorded significant strides towards the realization of the Ini people’s dreams, balancing aesthetics with business economy in the area.
On rice farm, the transition chairman said the commencement of INI RICE FARM Initiative has become priority in his visionary leadership explaining that the Initiation of the Ini Rice Farm project became necessary especially, in this season of economic challenges where cost of living was on the high side. He emphasized that out of his unwavering commitment to the welfare of his people, that he determined to adopt strategic engagements with Chiefs and leaders of Mbiabet Ikpe, a community where the farm will be sited to start the groundwork for the establishment of another rice farm agricultural revolution, a venture aimed at bolstering food security and economic prosperity.
The Ini Transition Committee Chairman while saying that he was still carrying out inspection of farmland sites for further establishment of agricultural projects for sustainable agricultural revolution and community economic empowerment by harnessing the agricultural potential of the region, assured his people that Ini Rice Farm will not only boost food sufficiency, but will also create employment opportunities, stimulate economic growth, and uplift livelihoods within the community.
