-As Governor Eno Pledges Support to College

The Chief Medical Director, General Hospital, Ukanafun, Dr. Dan Ekerette Sunday, has assured that the newly inaugurated hospital will boost learning experience for students of Sure Foundation College of Nursing Sciences also located in the area.
Dr. Sunday, who gave this assurance, Friday, November 21, during the official inauguration of the hospital by the state governor, Pastor Umo Eno, noted that the hospital was well-located to complement the new College of Nursing Sciences by providing additional learning experience for the students.
“I have heard that students from the School (college) of Nursing here are going to come to this Hospital for training and I want to tell you that this is going to be a great institution for training for Ukanafun people & beyond,“ Dr Sunday said.
Earlier, Governor Eno, while addressing some pioneer students of Sure Foundation College of Nursing Sciences, who came out to welcome him during the official commissioning of the General Hospital, expressed satisfaction that the students chose a noble profession and appreciated the opportunity God gave them for practical experience.
“We will be monitoring, and the Commissioner for Health will also be monitoring too. Those of you who pass will be absorbed to work in our health institutions“.
Speaking, the students thanked the Governor for giving them a completed and well-equipped General Hospital that will aid their clinical experiences and also help in developing common skills to make them better nurses in the future.
In his message of appreciation, the Chairman, Governing Council, Sure Foundation College of Nursing Sciences, Mr. Ndiana-Abasi Udom, noted that the General Hospital, which was initiated by former Governor Godswill Akpabio, stands as a clear example of continuity in governance and the governor’s commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery across our state as encapsulated on the ARISE Agenda.
“As an institution dedicated to excellence in Nursing education and shaping the future of healthcare, we celebrate every effort that expands access to quality medical services and enhances clinical practice opportunities for students and professionals.
“We congratulate the Government and people of Akwa Ibom State on this milestone and look forward to the positive impact this facility will bring to the people of Ukanafun and beyond,“ he said.
