On Monday, Senator Abdul Nigi posited that he was ready to face any consequence, even if it means suspension from the Red Chamber.

Senator Abdul Ningi was suspended by the Senate over his comment that the 2024 budget was padded with a N3.7 trillion additional funds.

In in interview with BBC, Senator Abdul Ningi had claimed that the National Assembly added a whooping N3.7 trillion to the initial proposed budget without linking it to any stated project in the budget.

But in a swift reaction to the allegation, the Senate on Tuesday moved a resolution suspending the federal lawmaker for three months.

The Senate maintained that there is no evidence proving that the 2024 budget was padded as Senator Abdul Ningi alleged.
