… To Launch Compendium

The Congress of Former Akwa Ibom Assembly Legislators has expressed solidarity with Governor Umo Eno, celebrating what they call “An Eventful One Year in Office.”

Following their initial general meeting of the year, led by Obong Saturday Akpan, the Congress commended Eno as divinely appointed. They highlighted various human-centric initiatives he had undertaken, which have garnered their admiration over the past year.

The Congress members unanimously praised the governor’s ARISE AGENDA, noting its dynamic and impactful contributions to healthcare, education, aviation, road infrastructure, and general administration.

They also congratulated the governor for fostering an inclusive government that promotes peaceful coexistence across political lines, building compassionate homes for vulnerable families statewide, implementing a project in each local government area, expanding the Ibom Air fleet, paying pensions and gratuities to retirees, and numerous other commendable initiatives.

Furthermore, the Congress applauded the governor for his harmonious relationship with the legislative arm of government, attributing the extensive development throughout the State to this cooperation.

The Congress members pledged their continued loyalty and support to the governor, praying for divine guidance, protection, and wisdom to further transform the State’s fortunes.

They announced plans to launch a Compendium of Former Legislators from the State, including those from the former Cross River House of Assembly.

The Compendium Committee will be chaired by Barr Ini Ikott, with Dr. Charles Mbong as Secretary. Other members include Dr. Etido Ibekwe, Elder Ime Mbom, Barr Kennedy Ekong, Engr Asuquo Odiong, Hon Sarah Esitikot, Barr Usenobong Akpabio, Hon Archibong Inyang, and Chief Peter Linus Umoh. Three current State Assembly members, Hon Jerry Otu (Ikot Ekpene/Obot Akara Constituency), Hon Uwemedimo Asuquo (Uyo Constituency), and Hon Uduak Uffot (Etinan Constituency), are also part of the committee. The Speaker, Elder Udeme Otong, has already inaugurated the Committee.

The Congress also extended their congratulations to the State Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Elder Udeme Otong, and the entire House of Assembly for providing the governor with the support needed to fulfill his promises to the people.

They specifically commended the Speaker for an outstanding first year in office, evidenced by the passage of quality bills, effective motions, thorough oversight, and collaboration with other government branches.

The Congress wished the governor many more years of successful and fulfilling service.
