The recently concluded 3-day free comprehensive medical and surgical outreach in Ibeno Local Government Area, sponsored by Hon. Okpolupm Etteh, the representative for Eket/ONNA/Esit-Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, provided essential healthcare services to residents of the area.

The outreach, which was held from Monday, September 9, to Wednesday, September 11, 2024, and aimed at improving the health of rural and vulnerable residents, successfully consulted and treated a total of 2,358 cases.

A range of health concerns were addressed during the program, including 143 surgeries and the treatment of 736 patients with visual impairments. Additionally, 631 pairs of glasses were distributed to individuals in need.

The outreach also conducted 1,859 laboratory investigations, providing comprehensive medical assessments and diagnostic services to the community.

According to residents and beneficiaries, the outreach had an unparalleled impact, particularly for those with limited or no access to specialized healthcare services.

The outreach is part of Hon. Etteh’s ongoing efforts to uplift his constituency through healthcare interventions, youth empowerment, and other development programs.
