An atmosphere of joy and relief filled the University of Uyo Teaching Hospital on Friday 21st March, 2025 as the Unique Precious Care Foundation, led by its Founder and Chairperson, Pastor Mrs. Florence Umanah, extended support to patients struggling with medical bills.

During the visit, the foundation fully settled the hospital bills of six discharged patients who had been unable to leave due to outstanding payments—some stranded for over a year. Additionally, more than 20 patients, including women and children, received financial aid for their ongoing medical expenses.

Speaking to journalists in Uyo, Pastor Mrs. Umanah reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to assisting hospital patients in distress, emphasizing that as long as God blesses her, she will continue using the foundation to support those in need. She also called on individuals and organizations to extend similar assistance, noting that many patients remain stuck in hospitals due to unpaid bills.

For the beneficiaries, the intervention was life-changing.
Mrs. Grace Odiong, one of the recipients, expressed her heartfelt gratitude:

“I was discharged in September last year, but I couldn’t leave because I owed over ₦300,000. Today, God has used this foundation to help me. I can finally go home to my children, and I am deeply grateful.”

This initiative is not the first of its kind by the Unique Precious Care Foundation. Last December, the foundation hosted a Christmas outreach, providing children with educational materials and gifting women food items and wrappers to celebrate the season.

Accompanying the chairperson on the hospital visit were key members of the foundation, including Pastor Mrs. Josephine, Elder Prince Emmanuel Sam (Head of the Media Directorate), and Elder Okon Ante.

The visit was concluded with prayers for the patients’ quick recovery and a renewed hope for continued humanitarian support in the future.
