-Retrieves Original Copy of Appointment Letters

-May Stop Salary Till Investigation Completes

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has subjected his Personal Assistants (PAs) on Media and other aides to series of humiliation following the recent exclusive report by SaharaReporters, this paper can authoritatively report.

One of the aides who spoke to our reporter on the condition of anonymity, said that the governor, through the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, summoned all his PAs within the salary grade that was shown in one of the images in the SaharaReporters’ story, for a meeting on Monday, September 1.

“We were all asked to come for a meeting with the SSG in the government house and we were strictly instructed to come with the original copy of our appointment letter. Initially, we heard that it was going to be a minor verification.

“However, when we arrived, we were subjected to all kinds of humiliation and treated like common criminals who were randomly arrested on the streets by the Police. Even the manner that we were addressed was so humiliating.

“At the end, we were asked to submit our appointment letters to a particular panel, write our names and go. So, at the moment, the appointment letters have been retrieved from us. So we don’t know whether we are still governor’s aides or not,” the aide lamented.

According to the aggrieved aide, they were reliably informed that the governor may stop their salary till the investigation to uncover who sent the document to SaharaReporters is completed, adding that even after the investigation, many of the aides may not return.
