The Unique Precious Care Foundation, led by its Chairperson and Founder, Pastor (Mrs.) Florence Umana, has concluded its 2025 Christmas outreach to widows across selected Local Government Areas in Akwa Ibom State, impacting the lives of over 530 women and widows with food items, clothing, and cash support.

The outreach exercise was rounded off on Monday, 22nd December, 2025, with visits to Ikot Edom Itam in Itu Local Government Area and Mount Zion Lighthouse Full Gospel Church, Ikot Abasi Itam Dioceses Headquarters.

At Ikot Edom Itam, the Foundation’s team was warmly received by Mrs. Soni Ayang, where about 120 women and widows were presented with wrappers and bags of rice to support their Christmas celebration.

Addressing the women, Pastor (Mrs.) Florence Umana reiterated the humanitarian focus of the Foundation, describing it as a non-governmental and non-political organization committed to improving the lives of the less privileged.

“Unique Precious Care Foundation exists solely to touch lives and restore hope among the less privileged in our society,” Mrs. Umana said.
“For over 25 years, we have remained consistent in supporting women, children, and vulnerable groups through education, healthcare, and economic assistance, without any political consideration.”

She further appreciated Mrs. Soni Ayang and her husband, Hon. Soni Ayang, for their warm reception and generous hospitality, noting that community support plays a vital role in sustaining humanitarian efforts.

In her response, Mrs. Soni Ayang thanked Mrs. Umana and members of the Foundation for the outreach and kind gestures extended to the women, praying for God’s continued blessings, protection, and strength for Mrs. Umana, her family, and the Foundation.

Goodwill messages were presented by Hon. Bassey Awah, former Council Secretary of Itu Local Government Area; the Secretary of the Foundation, Mr. Ubong Effanga; Mr. Daniel Bassey, Mrs. Utibe Ubong Ubiam, and Mrs. Idongesit, all of whom commended the Foundation for its consistency and compassion in serving humanity.

The event was attended by Hon. Soni Ayang, former Commissioner in Akwa Ibom State and immediate past Commissioner with the Revenue Mobilization and Fiscal Allocation Commission (RMAFC), among other dignitaries.

At Mount Zion Lighthouse Full Gospel Church, Ikot Abasi Itam Dioceses Headquarters, 20 widows received wrappers and bags of rice. Speaking at the church, the Women Coordinator, Hon. (Mrs.) Rosemary Harry, expressed deep appreciation to Mrs. Umana for her numerous acts of kindness over the years and for finally visiting the widows in person.
The Pastor in charge of the church, Apostle James Ekwere, also commended Mrs. Umana and her team for the visit and for being a source of encouragement and blessing to the ministry over the years. He offered prayers for God’s continued protection and blessings upon Mrs. Umana, her family, and members of the Foundation.

Responding, Mrs. Umana expressed joy at finally meeting the women face-to-face.

“It gives me great joy to finally be here in person,” she said.
“Your prayers and support over the years have strengthened us to continue this work of compassion, and we remain committed to reaching more lives as God enables us.”

The Christmas outreach commenced on 15th December, 2025, with a visit to Ika Local Government Area, where 200 women and widows received wrappers, bags of rice, and cash support. On 18th December, 2025, the Foundation visited Ibesikpo Local Government Area, where 105 women and widows benefited from similar items. Abak Local Government Area was also visited the same day, with over 80 widows receiving wrappers, rice, and cash assistance.

In all, over 530 women and widows benefited from the Foundation’s 2025 Christmas outreach.

At every centre visited, Mrs. Umana expressed profound gratitude to God for the strength and grace to sustain the outreach over the years. She also appreciated her husband for his unwavering support, as well as the Foundation’s partners and members for their sacrifices, dedication, and commitment to improving the lives of the needy in society.

The outreach aligns with the Foundation’s vision of fostering a society where every child, woman, and underprivileged youth has access to quality education, healthcare, and economic opportunities, while its mission remains focused on creating lasting impact through targeted humanitarian programmes and partnerships.
