Barely two years after Governor Umo Eno openly declared his intention to commercialize Governor’s aircraft with a promise to use IbomAir, Akwa Ibom people have come out to accuse him of lying to them.

The aircraft was bought in 2012 by the administration of Governor Godswill Akpabio for about $50 million (this included cost of the aircraft plus avionics and other installations). Akpabio had said he needed the aircraft for ease of movement in and out of the state. Governor Akpabio used the aircraft for three years; his successor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel used it for eight years, and Pastor Umo Eno for over two months.

Akwa Ibom people have come to question the credibility of the Governor after making a statement described as wild.

Pastor Umo Eno’s statement of selling Ibom Air had drawn commendations from within and outside the state.

However, Umo Eno, ever since he made that promise, has refused to comment on the issue, leaving people with many questions.

This is not the first time Pastor Umo Eno has made a statement and later then back to renege on his promise.

The Governor had during his presentation of mid-term reports, listed projects constructed and completed by previous administration as part of his projection. This action, irked many Akwa Ibom people who questioned Governor’s credibility as pastor.
