A former Federal lawmaker and academic, Prof. Ini Udoka, who represented Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has passed away.
Family sources confirmed that the former National Assembly member died on Sunday, May 17, 2026, after a brief illness reportedly caused by cold-related complications.
Prof. Udoka served in the 6th National Assembly from 2007 to 2011 under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), where he represented the people of Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency in Akwa Ibom State.
Until his death, the late university don was widely regarded as a grassroots politician, advocate of community development, and committed leader who dedicated his time and resources to the growth and welfare of his constituents.
During his time in the National Assembly, Prof. Udoka was known for his contributions to legislative activities and his passion for policies aimed at improving the living conditions of the people.
Following his demise, political associates, community leaders, and sympathisers are expected to pay tribute to the late lawmaker and commiserate with his family.
