The Elders Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has asked the House of Assembly to halt impeachment processes against Deputy Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. It asked the Assembly to stop the impeachment in tandem with the agreement reached with the National Leadership of the APC. The Court of Appeal in Abuja upheld the nullification of the election of Yusuf of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) by the state election petition tribunal. The High Court sitting in the Federal Capital Territory has ordered that the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, be remanded in the Kuje Correctional Centre pending the determination of his bail request. Emefiele is standing trial on an alleged procurement fraud. The trial which had been stalled on three occasions finally held on Friday. The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has affirmed the tribunal judgment which declared the All Progressive Congress candidate, Nasiru Gawuna winner of the governorship election. The Tribunal led by Justice Oluyemi Osadebay had nullified the election of Governor Abba Yusuf by declaring 165, 663 of his votes were invalid. The tribunal held that the ballot papers were not signed nor stamped by the Independent National Electoral Commission. Displeased by the tribunal verdict, Yusuf appealed against the judgment.
