The Nigeria Police Force has arrested and repatriated a Chadian national, Mahadijiria Abdoulaye, who was wanted by authorities in Chad in connection with the alleged murder of Nazik Mahamat Saleh.
Abdoulaye was arrested by operatives of the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja, in Kano State after fleeing Chad following the incident.
According to the Nigeria Police Force, Saleh was allegedly tortured and killed on May 3, 2026. The Court of Appeal in N’Djamena subsequently issued an international warrant of arrest on June 22, 2026, for Abdoulaye and her alleged accomplice, Fatime Senoussi Mouktar, in connection with the case.
The Force spokesperson, CSP Ani Iniedu, said Abdoulaye, who is also allegedly linked to narcotics trafficking activities in Chad, was traced to Nigeria following coordinated intelligence operations.
She was arrested on August 5, 2026, at Railway Quarters in the Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State.
Iniedu said Abdoulaye was successfully repatriated to N’Djamena on August 14, 2026, through Lomé, Togo, under established bilateral police cooperation arrangements.
The repatriation was carried out by INTERPOL NCB Abuja in collaboration with INTERPOL NCB N’Djamena to enable the suspect to return to Chad and face the judicial process.
Reacting to the development, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, commended the INTERPOL NCB Abuja operatives for their professionalism, diligence and effective coordination with their Chadian counterparts.
Disu said the successful arrest and repatriation demonstrated the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to ensuring that fugitives cannot evade justice by crossing international borders.
