-Directed chairmen, Commissioners not to attend
The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, seems not to be favourably disposed with the present executive of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio as he has allegedly done evey thing to frustrate the foremost Ibibio group.
It was revealed that, before the inauguration, Umo Eno had allegedly instructed all the local government chairmen, and Commissioners together with party stakeholders from Ibibio extraction not to attend the inauguration of the new executive.
Umo Eno’s decision may not be unconnected with the independent-minded approach to issues by the new international president of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio, Akparawa (Elder) Ini-Abasi Ekanem who is a former local government chairman of Onna.
The new International President, is said to be bent on restoring the dignity of Ibibio people, irrespective of whose ox is gored.
Governor Umo Eno’s non-challant attitude toward the foremost Ibibio group, may not be unconnected with his secret meeting with Annang stakeholders wherein he was allegedly said to be disecreting the Ibibios.
The Guide learnt that, unlike Ati Annang events in which the Governor usually send high-powered delegation to accompany the Deputy Governor to represent him, he only sent the Special Adviser on Political Matters and former International President of the group, Dr. Godwin Ntuk Udeh to represent him.
Some people believe that the Governor is not happy because the current International President is from ONNA local government area and may join force to support Ekid course.
It was gathered that the only local government chairman who attended the event was that of ONNA, Hon. Kufre Umoren.
