The Independent National Electoral Commission has released the final list of 18 presidential candidates and their running mates for the 2027 general elections.
The list, signed by the Secretary to the Commission, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, formally confirms the candidates who will contest the presidential election scheduled for January 16, 2027.
The candidates are drawn from 18 political parties, with incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress seeking re-election, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar contesting on the platform of the African Democratic Congress, and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi representing the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
Also on the list are Oyo State Governor Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde of the Allied Peoples Movement, former Cross River State Governor Donald Duke of the Peoples Redemption Party, Sandy Ojang Onor of the Peoples Democratic Party, Omoyele Sowore of the African Action Congress and Adewole Ebenezer Adebayo of the Social Democratic Party.
The other presidential candidates are Rufai Adekunle Omo-Aje of the Action Alliance; Abbas-Bin Aliyu of the Action Democratic Party; Yusuf Kabiru of the Action Peoples Party; Sunday Adenuga of the Boot Party; Moses Olusoji Adebisi of the Democratic Leadership Alliance; Sunday Chibuzo Okereke of the Labour Party; Ada Elizabeth Frederick Okwori of the National Democratic Party; Nkem Esther Okereke of the National Rescue Movement; Peter Ada Agada of the Young Progressive Party; and Daniel Daberechukwu Nwanyanwu of the Zenith Labour Party.
The commission’s list shows that 16 of the presidential candidates are men, while two are women, Okwori of the NDP and Okereke of the NRM.

6. All Progressives Congress (APC) — Bola Ahmed Tinubu; running mate: Kashim Shettima.
7. Allied Peoples Movement (APM) — Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde; running mate: Musa Lawal Daura.
8. Boot Party (BP) — Sunday Adenuga; running mate: Mustapha Usman Turaki.
9. Democratic Labour Alliance (DLA) — Moses Olusoji Adebisi; running mate: Nafisat Usaku Abubakar.
10. Labour Party (LP) — Sunday Chibuzo Okereke; running mate: Hajja Bintu Konto.
11. National Democratic Party (NDP) — Ada Elizabeth Frederick Okwori; running mate: Chukwuemeka Uchenna Anthony.
12. National Rescue Movement (NRM) — Nkem Esther Okereke; running mate: Sulaiman Nasir Muhammed.
13. Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) — Peter Gregory Obi; running mate: Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
14. Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) — Sandy Ojang Onor; running mate: Babangida Umaru.
15. Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) — Donald Duke; running mate: Kabiru Rabiu.
16. Social Democratic Party (SDP) — Adewole Ebenezer Adebayo; running mate: Usman Muhammed Bugaje.
17. Young Progressive Party (YPP) — Peter Ada Agada; running mate: Patience Ndidi Key.
18. Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) — Daniel Daberechukwu Nwanyanwu; running mate: Khalid Hassan.
INEC’s publication also shows that the presidential candidates are between 35 and 79 years old. Atiku Abubakar, 79, is the oldest presidential candidate, followed by Tinubu, who is 74, while Adebisi of the DLA, aged 35, is the youngest.
The vice-presidential candidates are between 35 and 80 years old. Four women appear among the running mates: Peace Egobia Ofordile of the APP, Nafisat Usaku Abubakar of the DLA, Hajja Bintu Konto of the Labour Party and Patience Ndidi Key of the YPP.
The commission also indicated that none of the presidential or vice-presidential candidates declared a disability.
The presidential and National Assembly elections are scheduled for January 16, 2027, while the governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections are scheduled for February 6, 2027.
