•as Umo Eno demonstrates no seriousness in projects execution
President Tinubu has again rejected pleas from both the state Governor, Pastor Umo Eno and the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio to visit the state and commission projects.
Available information from different quarters show that the President was not persuaded to jet down to Akwa Ibom State perhaps because of the quality of projects executed by the present administration.
The Akwa Ibom State Government had earlier given a release that the president will visit the state for commissioning of some projects as part of the activities marking the state’s 39th anniversary.
But few days ago, the state House press release indicated that the President would embark on three weeks break outside the country.
However, available information shows that the president has not replied the invitation letter sent to him, indicating his unavailability or assigning the commissioning to any of his subordinate.
“This situation has left many wondering on the next line of action for the Governor and his team having announced that the President would be around for project commissioning.
Speaking with The Guide, some political stakeholders described the act as a big blow to the state and an expression of dissatisfaction on how the state is expending its resources. A
“This should make the Governor more worried on why the president decided to shun the events marking the 39th anniversary of the state.” A stakeholder said.
Meanwhile, many Akwa Ibom people have raised concerns over lack of viable projects across the state after three years of this administration.
They said the Governor has not done much compared to the amount of money coming into the state as Federal allocation.
“What we not have is roads that are failing without government’s showing concerns. Government is busy building housing estate for those who can afford houses leaving the poor masses to fend for themselves.
“It seems our Governor does not know how to prioritize what he wants to do in order to meet up people’s needs.” Some persons said.
