EKPERIKPE EKPO HOSTS A’IBOM NUJ AT YULETIDE

… SUES FOR CONTINUED SYNERGY BETWEEN THE MEDIA AND GOVERNMENT

Minister of State Petroleum Resources (Gas), Rt. Hon. (Obongemem) Ekperikpe Ekpo has called on the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Council and the Media Community generally in country to continue to support the Federal Government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and government at all levels through developmental Journalism.

Ekpo made the call today when he played host to the Executive Members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Council led by the Chairman, Comrade Amos Etuk at his Abak residence in the spirit of the yuletide.

“In the spirit of the yuletide I deemed it timely to host you today and to particularly commend your patriotic contributions to nation building through your developmental Journalism. Let me use this medium to call for the continuous synergy from the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom Council and the Media Sector in the country to the Federal Government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Assembly led by the Chairman/Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Ministry of Petroleum Resources State (Gas) and government at all levels.” Ekpo appealed.

The Minister who was flanked by his wife, Lady Esitmbom Ekpo used the occasion to express his commitment to partner the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Council and the Media Community in the task of nation building especially as his Ministry is assiduously working to transit while offering affordable and accessible renewable energy solutions inline with the administration’s vision in the Gas Sector.

Ekpo used the occasion to congratulate the Executive Members of the NUJ, Akwa Ibom State Council on their electoral victories and subsequent assumption of offices.

Responding on behalf of the Nigeria Union Journalists, the State Council Chairman, Amos Etuk Congratulated the Honourable Minister, Ekperikpe Ekpo on his appointment by President Bola Tinubu as well as his subsequent assumption of office.

The NUJ Chairman commended the Honourable Minister and his Ministry for for all the giant strides recorded by his office for the period under review including launching of different Gas optimization options for the nation, global/National conferences attended, the revitalization of the Port Harcourt Refinery, distribution of Gas to South Africa which will boast Nigeria’s revenue base among others.

The Akwa Ibom NUJ expressed appreciation to Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo for hosting the NUJ Akwa Ibom State Council in the spirit of the Yuletide.

Amos Etuk particularly commended the synergy, peaceful and harmonious working relationship existing between the Federal appointees and the Akwa Ibom State government as exemplified by the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Honourable Minister, Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo and Governor Umo Eno irrespective of political affiliations stressing that it is a model of leadership for the NUJ, other stakeholders and all Akwa Ibom people to emulate.
