In a remarkable demonstration of its commitment to community development and child welfare, Ibom Developers FZE on Tuesday celebrated the 2026 Children’s Day with pupils of Methodist Primary School, Ikot Ikwot, in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The event, which formed part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and community development programmes, brought excitement and joy to pupils, teachers, parents, and members of the host community, as the school premises came alive with colourful activities marking the annual celebration dedicated to children.
The occasion featured an impressive march past by pupils, cultural dance performances, drama presentations, music displays, refreshments, sharing of gift packs, and a ceremonial cake cutting session. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as the pupils, dressed in colourful attires, showcased their talents and participated actively in the day’s activities.
Representatives of Ibom Developers FZE also used the opportunity to encourage the children to remain focused on their education, maintain discipline, and continue to believe in their dreams despite challenges.
Speaking during the event, the Community Development Programmes Coordinator of Ibom Developers FZE, Ms Grace Inyang, said the company considered the celebration important because children represent the future of every society.
According to her, the management of the company believes that every child deserves love, encouragement, and the opportunity to celebrate special moments such as Children’s Day. “Our dream is to ensure that the children do not miss out on the joy of Children’s Day. Beyond the celebration itself, we want to reassure them that their dreams are valid and that the future truly belongs to them,” she stated.
She explained that the company’s intervention in the community goes beyond infrastructural support, stressing that human capital development, especially among children, remains a major priority for Ibom Developers FZE.
“We believe that when children are encouraged and supported early in life, they grow into responsible adults who can contribute positively to society.
This is why we will continue to support programmes that inspire pupils to dream bigger, study harder, and remain hopeful about their future,” Ms Inyang added.
She further noted that the company remains committed to maintaining a cordial relationship with its host communities through initiatives that directly impact the lives of residents, particularly women and children. “We are not just operating in this community; we are part of this community. That is why we always seek opportunities to identify with the people and contribute meaningfully to their wellbeing. Today’s celebration is one of the ways we are showing love and care to these children,” she said.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of educational and welfare gift packs to the pupils. The children also received refreshments and participated in games and entertainment sessions organised by the company.
The Headmaster of Methodist Primary School, Ikot Ikwot, Mr Usua Mathew, expressed profound appreciation to Ibom Developers FZE for what he described as a thoughtful and impactful gesture toward the pupils.
“This gesture is a demonstration of genuine love and care for the younger generation. We are deeply grateful to Ibom Developers FZE for coming to celebrate with our pupils and for making the children feel special on this important day,” he said.
Mr Mathew noted that many of the pupils looked forward to the celebration and were excited by the company’s presence and support. “Today has brought smiles to the faces of these children. The gifts, refreshments, and encouragement they received will remain memorable to them. We pray that more organisations emulate this kind gesture because children need this level of encouragement to stay motivated in their studies,” he added.
Some of the pupils who participated in the event also expressed happiness and gratitude to the company for celebrating with them. Miss Esther Akpan, one of the pupils, said she was excited to be part of the celebration and thanked the company for the gifts and entertainment provided.
“I am very happy today because we were able to celebrate Children’s Day in a special way. We received gifts, food, and encouragement. I thank Ibom Developers FZE for remembering us,” she said. Another pupil, Prosper Esuh, described the event as one of the happiest moments of the year for many of the children. “We enjoyed ourselves today. I liked the march past and the cake cutting. The company has shown us love, and I want to say thank you to them,” he stated.

We thank them for the gifts and advice they gave us to work hard in school. I will study harder so I can become successful in the future,” the pupil said.
Parents and community members who attended the event also applauded the initiative, noting that the celebration demonstrated the company’s commitment to promoting peaceful coexistence and supporting the educational development of children within its host communities. The event concluded with group photographs, dancing, and interactions between company representatives, teachers, and pupils, leaving behind lasting memories for the children of Ikot Ikwot community.
