LPPC Elevates 68 Lawyers to Senior Advocate of Nigeria Rank, Announces Full List of Successful Candidates

The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has approved the elevation of 68 legal practitioners to the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

The decision was reached during the committee’s 174th Plenary Session held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, under the chairmanship of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.

According to the committee, the successful candidates comprise 67 advocates and one academic applicant. The newly elevated SANs also include four women.

The advocates were listed in order of seniority at the Bar as follows:

The rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria is the highest distinction in the Nigerian legal profession, conferred on legal practitioners who have demonstrated exceptional excellence in advocacy, legal scholarship, and contributions to the development of the legal profession.
